Randall Meyers was born 1955 in the U.S.A. but has lived in Europe since 1970. He studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London (1970-1974) and further at the Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst, Vienna (1975-1979).
Since 1979 Meyers has been active as concertist, composer and teacher.
His music spans over a broad spectra of styles and forms. From solo and chamber pieces, to works for large orchestra, concer-tos, film music, as well as theatre and ballet performances. Through expensive travelling and his profound interest in the musical traditions of different cultures, Meyers has developed a very personal musical language which is not easily placed in any one idiom or school of composition. His music has been performed in many European countries, U.S.A., and the East.
Meyers has composed the soundtracks to over 50 films, among which are several known features as well. He has also published with ÇAd-Notam Guldendahlë, an acclaimed book on film music.
Meyers lives and works in Spoleto, Italy, and Oslo, Norway.
