MIC’s Listen to Norway series continues with Lyriaka: Lyriakafabrikken og jakten på de magiske versene (The Lyriaka factory and the quest for the magical verses).
The Lyriaka project is the unique vision of two people deeply concerned with children’s ability and need for expression. Øyvind Gravdal and Petter Moen have since 1997 been making records and performing live combining their music with children’s own lyrics and voices. This way of making records for children; utilizing the words, conceptions and voices of the audience itself, has won them several awards including the Norwegian Grammy award. The story of The Lyriaka factory and the quest for the magical verses is a combination of a framework narrative, and texts contributed by children; both song lyrics and poems not sung.It was made in cooperation with Redd Barna (Save the Children).
