Röyksopp shouldn’t need a lengthy introduction. Suffice to say that their debut album Melody AM has sold more than 800 000, they’ve occupied singles charts all over the world and won numerous awards for record releases and videos. To cut it short, Röyksopp is presently the most successful Norwegian act internationally.
Following a pause from live-activities to promote Melody AM, singles and videos, Röyksopp are now set to play live-shows again. This summer will see Röyksopp headlining Norwegian festivals Øya and Quart as well as two shows at London’s stately home Somerset House in July. Röyksopp are also confirmed to play the Fuji Rock Festival in Nigata, Japan.
Röyksopp are also rumoured to appear at this year’s Glastonbury. However, this has not been officially confirmed yet.
A taster of things to come can be had on June 16 when Röyksopp’s new single Sparks is released.
More info can be found on NME’s site or at Röyksopp’s label Wall of Sound’s site.
