Jan Eggum’s President is the latest album in a string of releases that dates back to the early 70s. Together with his trusty nylon-stringed guitar, Eggum has found a voice and an expression that has made him the veritable institution that he is today. The lush arrangements and confident playing courtesy of highly accomplished side-men don’t detract from the lyric’s sting. Eggum is highly critical of many aspects of the current Norwegian society, and speaks out on social injustice and racism.
