Notting Hill Arts Club in association with Jailon Ltd presents SoNorsk, a pure Norwegian night at London’s Beachclub on Monday 16 January.
A number of Norwegian artists and DJs are set to take part in the first Beachclub event of 2006 at London's Notting Hill Arts Club. SoNorsk is a 100% pure Norwegian night at the vibrant London club Notting Hill Arts Club. SoNorsk is presented by Jailon Ltd, an agency for the promotion and development of Norwegian acts in the UK, in association with the Notting Hill Arts Club.
First up at the SoNorsk sessions is Kaya, a Norwegian singer-songwriter who plays her trade in Liverpool, but don’t expect any Beatles covers here – just quirky and powerful songs, hopefully about love,
The ham in the SoNorsk sandwich is Brainchild. Brainchild are over in London hanging out with pop producer legend dude Aiden Love, come down and check their serious MTV credentials.
Last but not least is Kari Kleiv. London-based Norwegian singer-songwriter Kari Kleiv looks set to be the next powerful voice to come out of the Norwegian music scene. With a repertoire of heart-warming acoustic numbers and a fantastic voice Kleiv is destined for the bigger stages in the time to come.
Aspiring actress and heart-warmingly fine singer-songwriter, Kari Kleiv was born in Kristiansand on the southernmost tip of Norway and has subsequently lived in Los Angeles, Japan and The Philippines. Along the way she has been the face of Minolta in the Far East and an aid worker in the slums of Panay. Now, rather handily for the Fierce Panda records A&R budget she resides in Holloway, North London. And she has crammed the entire above paragraph into her freshfaced 21 years. The last year has seen Kari stealthily working the London underground scene backed by her acoustic guitar, a set of strong tunes that belie her tender age and a steadily growing loyal audience.
Kari Kleiv is signed to UK’s Fierce Panda.
Jo&Jiro will take care of the DJing. While you’re dancing you can also check out a photo/graphics show presented by Norwegian award-winning design agency Bleed.
