Music sales continue its downward spiral on the domestic market in October.
The latest sales figures from IFPI Norway, including physical and digital units, indicate an 11% drop in music sales on the domestic market in August 2010 compared to the preceding year.
The number of physical units shifted are down 23% compared to August 2009, while sales of digital downloads and streams rose with 83% in the same time frame.
Total accumulated sales in 2010 amount to 4,3m physical units resulting in a NOK 248m turnover. Digital downloads and revenue from streaming services amount to a NOK 113m turnover.
This represents a loss of 18% in value so far this year.
