All-female metal phenomenon Octavia Sperati team up with Cradle of Filth for their upcoming UK tour in December.
Bergen’s all-female metal outfit Octavia Sperati is set to tour the UK with Cradle of Filth over the next weeks.
Since the beginning in 2000 Octavia has established themselves as a new shining star on the already crowded Norwegian metal sky. Their music is not easily categorized and has been associated with the likes of Candlemass, Nightwish, The Gathering and The Third and the Mortal.
Since their foundation Octavia has played a number of gigs in Norway, including the major festivals like Hole in the Sky - Bergen metal fest 2002, 1001 Watt (Skien, 2002), Ride This Train (Bergen, 2003) and the Lost Weekend festival (Askøy, 2003). Octavia has also toured internationally and has performed at such key industry events as the In The City festival. Octavia also appeared as one of 50 promising Norwegian bands performing at the 2004 by:Larm conference, which is Norway’s largest happening within music trading and network building
In late 2004 Octavia signed a record deal with UK’s Candlelight Records home to some of Norway’s best Metal bands. Octavia entered Earshot studio with the producers Herbrand Larsen and Arve Isdal (members of Enslaved, Audrey Horne) in December 2004. The album which was titled ‘Winter Enclosure’ saw its release on the 9th of May 2005 to great critical acclaim at home and abroad.
Octavia’s ten-date UK tour is set to take the band to Nottingham, Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, Glasgow, Birmingham, Cardiff, London, Norwich and Southampton beginning on 1 December.
