Hanne Hukkelberg’s new album Rykestrasse 68 gets its European release in April and is accompanied by an extensive tour.
10th of April sees Norwegian vocalist/producer/composer Hanne Hukkelberg embarking on an extensive European tour that will take the renown vocalist and band to Germany, Italy, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Slovenia, Holland and the UK. Hukkelberg’s upcoming tour is in support of her critically acclaimed last album Rykestrasse 68 (Nettwerk) which is scheduled for European release in April. The album was initially released on the domestic market last autumn and garnered a string of very positive reviews.
Some international reviews have also ticked in; wrote Pitchforkmedia in its October 2006 review of Rykestrasse 68: “Norwegian singer-songwriter follows her mosaic of intimate jazz and fractured pop miniatures with an album that's both grander and infused with more emotional turbulence” (7,5).
Hukkelberg also contributes with a track on an upcoming sampler featured in the next issue of Rolling Stone magazine.
Rykestrasse 68 looks set to generate quite a media buzz in Germany with several tv-spots and “album of the week” features on national radio and TV.
