Japanese tour for leading improvisers

Martin Taxt, Eivind Lønning and Espen Reinertsen head out on a Japanese tour in June.

Akiyama / Taxt / Lønning / Reinertsen: Varianter av døde trær

June sees highly creative and acclaimed improv performers Martin Taxt, Eivind Lønning and Espen Reinertsen playing a string of performances in Japan.

Martin Taxt, Eivind Lønning and Espen Reinertsen invited the japanese guitarist Tetuzi Akiyama to play with them for the first time in November 2006. Since the initial meeting, the musical explorers have maintained contact with their Japanese peers and in December 2007 the outfit recorded their first album. May 2008 saw the release of the album ‘Varianter av døde trær’ on renowned Norwegian improv label SOFA.

The release is celebrated with 8 concerts in Japan in June 2008.

Norwegian artist Lars Myrvoll is set to join the quartet with his solo set on guitar and electronics.
