MIC launches office concert series

In partnership with the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation, MIC now launches a new live concert series broadcasted from its Oslo offices.

Welcome to ‘Live In the Office’ - a live concert series presented by the Music Information Centre Norway and NRK, the national Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation. For a series of intimate concerts, MIC invites musicians to perform on an unlikely stage for a live concert; the office. Watch intimate video performances of your favorite Norwegian artist, recorded live at MIC’s Oslo office or in selected locations throughout the country.

Jarle Bernhoft kicked off the new concert series with a solo gig at the Music Information Centre Norway’s Oslo office on Tue 8th of February. Bernhoft’s gig was broadcasted live on the national P2 radio station as well as on the broadcasting corporation’s web-TV.

Through MIC’s ‘Listen to Norway’ concert series, the monotonous office ambience is broken by a series of intimate concerts in which the artist sets up shop in between cubicles, photocopiers and stacks of paper and performs in front of a crowd of office workers that has their daily routine pleasantly interrupted by minimalist and stripped-down sets performed by some of Norway’s finest artists and performers.

For the inaugural office concert, Jarle Bernhoft set up shop in MIC’s Oslo office, utilized the office’s resources (read bells and desk lighting) and treated the surprised office workers to a packed set of tight soul tunes performed solo, accompanied by Berhoft’s trademark vocals and layered-up loops played on guitar and treated to subtle effects. Songs played includes such domestic hits as Choices as well as Tears for Fears’ 80s classic Shout.
